Spray Painting
Many people have the idea that spray painting is too difficult for
anyone but a professional painter. While you may not have the skills of
a professional painter, it is not as difficult as you may have first
thought. In the last quarter century, airless spray painting has
progressed quite a bit. Most people who are inexperienced with painting
usually begin with spray painting with a can. This is an inexpensive
method that is also convenient. There are a number of tips that can help
you become a better spray painter. One common suggestion is simply to
shake the can well before you begin painting. Also, it is recommend that
you mist the surface lightly before you begin painting.
There are a number of objects that can be spray painted. Some furniture
like wrought iron patio furniture and also metal fences are good
candidates for this type of painting. Basically anything that would be
difficult to paint with a roller or brush could instead be spray
painted.
If you are wondering about the best type of spray painting system to
use, there is no 100% right or wrong answer to that. At one end of the
spectrum are professional systems that can be either airless or that use
air. Other spray painting systems would appeal more to an amateur
painter that only paints occasionally. In fact, even the spray paint
that you can buy at any hardware store or places like Kmart can give
really excellent results.
If you would like to purchase a set of spray painting tools, probably
the best suggestion is to think carefully how and why you will be using
these tools. It could be that an electric airless sprayer is what you
need. Most of the newer models will give you excellent results.
If you are a beginner, many people would just recommend that you begin
with cans of spray paint. This is a cheap way to begin spray painting.
Then later, if you have a need for more heavy duty equipment, then you
already have the experience you will need to operate this equipment.
